To make sure we support the artists who play on our station there will be a link change. The old one will still work as a back door, but listening on there will not count towards paying royalties and advertising that supports the station to pay for those royalties. That means in time the old address will need to fade away. So please into the future if you share the station with people, it will be https://variety.myvybz.com/a63390. If you listen at https://radio.myvybz.com/ nothing will change. With this change as mentioned, advertisements will be coming to the station. We have to play at least 4 minutes of ads on air in an hour. These ads are like ones you hear on your local radio station, just less of them :). We figured to start we will just do two, 2-minute ad breaks an hour, and see how that works. Right now so they do not have to cut off music we have them set to every 25 minutes after the playing track. So there will be 6/7 songs before an ad break that will only last two minutes. We can do shorter ads, but that would mean more ads in an hour. Keep in mind, a requirement by the company we will be paying royalties through, is a minimum of 4 minutes an hour. This is the cheapest option we have without making ourselves broke and making sure the station is paying royalties it is supposed to, for the great music artists make. This will be required with radio shows as well. Just like a AM/FM radio station they will need to break to an ad, but once again still less than if you were listening to the radio in your car ;). If shows record their shows those will still be able to be heard off air as well if any come into the future. What will not change: you will still be able to request music when no show is live, leave shoutouts, vote for music, and everything else we always have had. Due to us wanting to keep those features we will be relaying to the address above meaning there will be a 60 second delay difference. If you’re listening at the link, to be honest you will never know :D. We just wanted to make that apparent so if you run into someone using the old link, or notice the widgets are showing the next track ahead of the station, you know there is a reason for that delay.
